Bottle feeding equipment

Before you start bottle feeding, you'll need to get the items below. When choosing equipment, it’s good to ask your pharmacist or healthcare professional for advice.

  • 4 to 6 baby bottles

    Bottles are available in many sizes, and they can be either plastic or glass. You may want to start with smaller sized bottles for newborn feed sizes.

  • 4 to 6 teats

    Slow flowing teats work best for newborns, and you can switch to medium and fast flow once they're older. If you are using a thickened formula or feed thickener, you may need to use a specialized teat for thickened fluids.

  • Bottle brushes(for cleaning bottles & teats)

  • Sterilising equipment

  • An insulated cooler bag

  • Muslin cloths and bibs

  • Muslin cloths and bibs(for expressing milk)

  • Sterile container(for collecting breast milk)

  • If you are formula feeding at all you will also needInfant formula
